Alvin F. Meredith III
President of Brigham Young University-Idaho
Alvin F. Meredith III became the 18th president of Brigham Young University-Idaho on August 1, 2023. He was sustained as a General Authority Seventy on April 3, 2021, and continues to serve in that role today.
Prior to his call as a General Authority, President Meredith served as president of the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission. He also served as an Area Seventy in the North America Southeast and Asia Areas, and in a number of other Church callings including as a full-time missionary in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission.
In his professional career, President Meredith worked as a senior executive of Asurion in Tennessee, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He also worked for The Boston Consulting Group and GE Capital.
President Meredith earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
President Meredith married his wife, Jennifer Edgin, in 1998. Sister Meredith served a full-time mission in the Argentina Salta Mission and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Brigham Young University. President and Sister Meredith are the parents of six children.

Greg Roach
Academic Vice President
Greg Roach currently serves as academic vice president at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Greg earned bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University. Prior to joining BYU-Idaho in 2005, he worked as a research and development engineer for Honeywell Aerospace Technologies in Phoenix, Arizona.
At BYU-Idaho, Greg began his service as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering. In 2012, he was invited to serve as Mechanical Engineering Department Chair. He later served as Dean of the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering and, beginning in 2025, as Associate Academic Vice President for Instruction.
As academic vice president, Greg has stewardship over Academic Administration, curriculum, college deans, and faculty.
Rob Garrett
Chief of Staff, Executive Strategy and Planning Vice President
Rob Garrett currently serves as Chief of Staff and Executive Strategy and Planning Vice President at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Rob earned a BS in business management from Utah Valley University, an MBA from Utah State University, and an Ed.D from Grand Canyon University.
Rob began working at BYU-Idaho as admissions manager and then as admissions director. He later served as Enrollment Services managing director.
As Executive Strategy and Planning vice president, Rob has stewardship over Accreditation, Institutional Planning, Institutional Research and Assessment, Online and Pathway Research, and University Relations.
Amy Renee
Student Life Vice President
Amy Renee currently serves as Student Life vice president at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Idaho State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Brigham Young University.
Prior to coming to BYU-Idaho, Amy worked in telecommunications for various companies in Utah and Idaho. She began working at BYU-Idaho as a career and academic advisor in the College of Business and Communication. Amy has served in eight different positions over the past fifteen years, including, director of Career and Academic Advising and managing director of Student Development.
As Student Life vice president, Amy has stewardship over Student Success and Retention, Student Activities, Student Development, Student Services, Student Well-being, the Dean of Students Office, and Title IX.
Kendall Peck
Online Vice President
Kendall Peck currently serves as Online vice president at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Kendall attended Ricks College and then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a PhD in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Utah.
Kendall returned to Ricks College in 1997 as a chemistry faculty member. In 2002, he was asked to serve as the Chemistry Department Chair. He has also served as the Dean of the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering, Dean of Online Programs, and Associate Online Vice President.
As Online vice president at BYU-Idaho, Kendall has stewardship over Online Learning, Online Programs, and serves on BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s President’s Executive Group.
Brett Cook
University Resources Vice President
Brett Cook currently serves as University Resources vice president at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Brett attended the University of Utah where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Prior to BYU-Idaho, Brett worked in finance at Norwest Financial and in operations with Redman North American. He began his employment at BYU-Idaho in 1991 as Operations Manager and has also served as Director of the University Store and Managing Director of Auxiliary Services.
As University Resources vice president, Brett has stewardship over Budgeting, Financial Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Internal Audit, Risk Management, University Operations, and University Services.
